A Cosy Springtime Nest in the Garden | Life in a time of Quarantine

    16th May, 202030th June, 2020

Last weekend on Saturday I decided to create this dreamy scene in our back garden for Emilia before the weather took a cooler turn. Since we’re home all day at the moment, our garden has very

For little stories of my life, details of where I've travelled and what I've discovered, created and loved along the way.

:: I couldn’t resist posting another photo from :: I couldn’t resist posting another photo from this beautiful garden I shared on Tuesday. I’m enjoying not overthinking what/when I post on here quite so much as I used to and instead, embracing the joy and simplicity of sharing with you what is inspiring me the most. Happy midweek, folks! ☀️🌿
:: magical glasshouse corners. Filled with hidden :: magical glasshouse corners. Filled with hidden treasures and promises, and the perfect space for chasing dappled light. ✨🌱 Always a welcoming sanctuary from the busy world 💫
:: we have sunshine and blue skies today, and it’s surprised me how much energy their presence has given me. So there’s been a lot more daydreaming (well, mainly while the little one is napping) with a cup of tea in my new handmade ceramic mug - my favourite every day ritual ✨
.
I keep wondering about what new joys this year will have in store for us... I don’t think this year will be easy by any means, but I’m choosing to believe and hope for those moments that were so limited for us last year 🌱🌸
:: monday magic, daydreaming of rose everywhere an :: monday magic, daydreaming of rose everywhere and wanders through walled gardens ✨
:: tentatively joining this space again after what :: tentatively joining this space again after what feels like such a long break! 🌿 I’ve been hiding away in a bit of a bubble and I’ve not really had the headspace for social media when it feels much more chaotic than usual in this online space. Isolation has meant I’ve lost my confidence with a lot of things. Thankfully, I’m still finding the energy (just about) to capture some moments of our everyday, but I definitely struggle with any pressure I place on myself to be more productive...
.
Choosing to focus instead on being present with Emilia and trying to avoid thinking too much about all the wishes and dreams I had envisioned for our family at this point in time, well it’s a conscious effort which I’m accepting doesn’t get vastly easier with practice. Something I know so many of you can relate to.
.
So now here we are, almost three months since I last posted, because although the days are long with a high energy toddler, the repetition of activities means the days have blended into weeks and months. I’m looking forward to brighter, warmer days where being outside will be easier and more forgiving on our tired minds and bodies. 🧡 Inspired by that, I wanted to share a few captured moments from a joy filled day at the beach; a favourite memory of mine from the end of last summer celebrating Emilia’s birthday.
.
Seeking connection on here again feels very unfamiliar and vulnerable... How are you doing? What small things have been bringing you joy lately? x

Also, impressed I managed to capture a photo of this special anniversary bouquet of flowers this afternoon minutes before all the light was lost in this corner of our living room ✨ I noticed how beautiful the light was and seized my opportunity while Emilia was napping... I had to juggle editing with a breastfeeding toddler though!

Emilia was really the only one of us dressed appropriately for the turn of weather... and James fell spectacularly in the boggy mud before our journey home. Still the most fun we’ve had in a while and I’ll never forget how much we all laughed. Simple joys ✨
